Position # IM-GER-MI-JR Internal Medicine Physician and Geriatric Medicine Physician Location: Michigan
An outstanding private practice group of three board certified internists, two of whom have added qualifications in geriatric medicine, wishes to add an internist and a fellowship-trained geriatrician due to the continued growth of the practice, to facilitate planned expansion to satellite offices, and to enhance the quality and availability of healthcare to an increasing elderly population. These positions offer partnership after two years with buy-in terms to be determined in the initial contract. The practice is housed in updated offices less then a mile from the hospital. Staff included a PA and two NP's. The office is fully equipped. Call coverage is shared among the physicians and the mid level providers. 40% of the patients are 65 and older.
Base compensation will be about 120k with incentives added after the first year. Benefits include health insurance, pension and profit sharing, vacation and CME. Malpractice insurance is also provided. Candidates for the internist position will have completed residency training and be BE or BC. Candidates for the geriatrician will have completed a two year fellowship in geriatric medicine and intend to earn added qualifications in this area in addition to becoming BC in internal medicine.
