Pediatric Physician Job

Location: Virginia, Southwest / Northwestern Tennessee

Would you like to practice in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. This area is known for its outdoor activities (including mountain biking and skiing), theatre, sporting events (NASCAR) and many other choices for recreation. Low crime rates, low cost-of-living and a favorable malpractice and managed care environment all make our area a great place to live and work.

A reputable Health System is currently recruiting BC/BE Pediatricians for its Pediatric practice based in Southwest Virginia), located 35 miles north of Kingsport Tennessee (Northeast Tennessee). This practice previously employed two physicians seeing 30/35 patients each during the off season and almost twice that number in the winter months. The practice had been staffed with locums help and had never been with out MD providers. One permanent physician started Nov, 2002, and we are recruiting for the second. The existing staff (ave.8 yrs with practice) will be remaining with the practice

The office is conveniently located on the hospital campus in a physician office building. All ancillary services are within easy walking distance for your patients. There is one OB/Gyn in Big Stone Gap who delivers about 350 babies/year. Any complicated or high-risk patients are referred to Kingsport TN and a nearby Medical Center.

This position offers a competitive salary ($140K), with production bonus and full benefits. The incentive is based on RVU's (relative value units) so the bonus is figured on work units only and not collections of the practice.
