Thoracic Surgery Physician Job
Location: Massachusetts, Western
Thoracic Surgery Faculty Position
Seeking board certified/eligible thoracic surgeon with fellowship training in thoracic surgery. An interest in basic and clinical research is preferred. Opportunities exist for clinical and basic research, including collaborative endeavor with the faculty at the University for basic science research. Ample personnel are available to assist in data collection and collation. Duties and position also include a faculty appointment to a reputable Academic Institution and, teaching medical students and surgery residents.
The Medical Center is the Health System’s flagship hospital and the University. It is the only Level I trauma center with pediatric commitment in Western New England and has 600 beds and 30 surgical suites. The Medical Center serves as the regional referral center for Western New England and, is one of New England’s largest integrated multi-institutional health care systems and offers a coordinated continuum of hospital, physician services and home health care services.
The area offers warm, friendly New England communities to live in, beautiful countryside, great private and public schools, antique stores and artisan galleries. A few miles south is the vibrant arts and college community of Northampton, voted #1 small arts town in the country, and the hub of a rich network of academic institutions including the University of Massachusetts and Amherst, Smith, Hampshire, and Mount Holyoke Colleges. The area is convenient to coastal New England, Vermont and New Hampshire skiing, and metropolitan Boston and New York.
